Lovely little prayerbook with beautiful frontispiece, printers vignet and Catholic calendar, early 17th century edition. Original title in Dutch : Vincent Hensberch - Den gheestelycken Rooselaer der alderweerdichste Moeder Godts - Antwerp, Cornelis Verschueren, 1623. Later parchment binding - 490 pages + index, fine printers vignet - complete, some pages restored, middle part pages with wormholes, sime pages slightly frayed. But still a good copy.
VINCENT HENSBERCH, Dominican in Antwerp, was born in Jodoigne, a small town in Walloon Brabant; held two or three times the position of sub-prior of his monastery, was vicar at Lire and director of the Dominican nuns of Val-Duchesse, at Auderghem, near Brussels. He died at an advanced age in Antwerp, July 4, 1634.
