A Very Rare Antique Map comprising of modern day Russia, Ukraine, Armenia, Georgia amougst others and engraved and printed in 1571 by Munster drawing from an earlier work of the classical Roman geographer Strabo. This map is an original 1571 (16th century) copper engraving. This is the very rare edition of the STRABONIS with maps prepared and engraved by SEBASTIAN MUNSTER, published in 1571 in his fantastic work: Strabonis rerum Geographicarum Libri XVII...... Basileae, ex officina Henricpetrina, 1571. This is a beautiful map, extremely rich in details, if you look closely you can see NOAH's ARK north of the Crimea as well as other interesting features and embellishments, with wide margins, excellent watercolour painting, very complex and well detailed in every part. The map is in very good condition considering its age; it shows small signs of ageing, visible in photos, few cuts or slight marginal browned areas/rings (at the centre and bottom part).
