This is a very, very early ironstone buttermilk pitcher. It's markings mean it was made in 1869 according to Kovel's. It depicts Dick Whittington as a poor child.
If you look very closely, you can see his name on his nap sack pole. Richard Whittington was born in 1350 and was very poor and later became Lord Mayor of London. I can not find any like this. This pitcher is in wonderful condition.
